What is the PTO and why do we exist? The South Arbor PTO is made up of parents and teachers who want to give students at South Arbor the opportunity to participate in enriching experiences and to have the best material and equipment we can provide. Examples of PTO supported funding include: $10,000 in funding for classroom support, $3,600 for extracurricular activities, $2,500 for house points rewards, $3,000 for teacher appreciation, and $900 for special assemblies. For a detailed list of PTO sponsored events and other places your fundraising dollars go, check out our budget page. The SA PTO helps decides what events to plan, how to pay for those events, and how to carry them out.
The PTO Board also wants to "give back" to the families at the school by having monthly Family Fun Events. It creates a community within the school that goes beyond just the school day. Some of these events are free to attend and some will be a small fee to cover the event costs. It's a bonus if we make a few dollars from the event but that is not our ultimate goal for Family Fun Events. If you would like to plan an event please fill out the Event Request form on our website and turn it into the PTO box in the office. It will be looked over by the PTO Board and Principal before approval. When parents get connected to the schools, children do better. In addition to the ideas and opinions that we love to hear, the children also benefit from parent volunteers who can donate a little time to make it happen. Please consider attending our monthly meetings and/or volunteering for a particular event when future messages are sent home or contact one of board members listed below. |
